A bedside crib is suitable from birth. Thanks to its protected lying surface and the close proximity to the parents, it offers your newborn a safe and secure sleeping environment.

Depending on the model and size, use is possible up to about 6–9 months – or until your baby is able to pull up or sit up on their own. Many roba models can afterwards be transformed into a children’s bench or a bassinet.

A bedside crib attaches directly to the parents’ bed with one open side, while a bassinet is free-standing and better suited for the living area. With roba’s combination models, you get both functions in one.

Depending on the model, bedside cribs are attached directly to the parents’ bed using brackets, hooks, or safety straps. What matters most is a stable setup without any gap between the mattresses. For box-spring beds, height-adjustable models with a strap system are ideal. Tip: Position the bedside crib about 5–8 cm lower than your mattress to prevent rolling over.

The mattress covers are usually removable and washable at 30 °C. Textile bumpers and fitted sheets can also be cleaned without any problem – please follow the care instructions on the label.
