Frequently asked questions about highchairs | Our answers

ROBA offers a variety of highchair types to suit different needs:

Classic combination highchairs can later be converted into a table and chair set and are suitable from around 6 months. Stair-style highchairs like the various Sit Up models grow with the child and can be ergonomically adjusted.

For babies from birth, there are highchairs with a newborn attachment, such as the “Born Up” – a combination of the Sit Up Flex and a reclining infant attachment, which later transforms into a full highchair.

Additionally, ROBA offers modern, easy-to-clean highchairs with a plastic shell that combine sleek design with practical functionality.

A child can sit in a highchair once they can sit upright independently and safely – usually from around 6 months of age. It’s important that the highchair provides good support, such as a harness and an adjustable seat. For newborns, ROBA offers special highchairs with infant attachments that can be used from birth and later converted into a classic highchair.

ROBA offers highchairs tailored to different age groups:

From birth: The Roba Born Up comes with a newborn attachment and is suitable from day one. The reclining function ensures an ergonomic position and later converts into a classic highchair.

From around 6 months: Once a child can sit securely, combination highchairs like the Roba Little Stars or Liebhabär are ideal – they provide stable support and can later be used as a table-chair set. The Sit Up III (stair-style highchair) is also suitable from this age and grows with the child thanks to adjustable seat and footrest positions.

For toddlers in daily life: Highchairs with a plastic shell like the Roba Style Up Wood combine modern design with easy-care materials and are perfect for children from about 6 months who can sit independently. They’re especially practical for everyday use and easy to clean.

Important safety features for highchairs include a 5-point or 3-point harness to securely hold the child in place, as well as a safety bar or tray to prevent slipping out. The construction should be tip-proof and stable – for example, with a wide base like the roba Sit Up. Height-adjustable seat and footrests ensure ergonomic seating. Models like the roba Born Up provide additional safety with a stable lying surface and non-slip padding. Certified materials and seals of approval (e.g., TÜV certification) are also important indicators of quality.

Yes, many highchairs from ROBA are designed to grow with your child, making them especially long-lasting. Models like the roba Sit Up, Sit Up Flex, or Nature Up feature height-adjustable seat and footrests that can be easily adapted to your child's size — from around 6 months to school age. The roba Born Up also grows with your child: it starts with a newborn attachment and later transforms into a full-featured highchair. These chairs are made to accompany your child for many years.

ROBA offers specific accessories for its highchairs depending on the model. For the Sit Up Flex, an optional tray is available that can be easily attached and removed. It is compatible with the 3-point harness and matching highchair cushions, and comes in various colors such as white, natural, taupe, or black.

The Sit Up III, on the other hand, does not have an additional tray option; this highchair is designed for direct use at the family dining table.

The Born Up combines the Sit Up Flex with a newborn attachment and a seat reducer. The attachment offers an ergonomic lying position for newborns and can be removed later, allowing the highchair to grow with the child.

Please note that accessories are model-specific and not available for all highchairs.
